Ebenezer Lutheran Church of Minneapolis Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Ebenezer Lutheran Church Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in May, 1993, by Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minn. Ebenezer Lutheran Church was founded in 1892 as a congregation in the Augustana Synod and became part of the Lutheran Church of America when the Augustana Synod merged with other Lutheran church bodies in 1962. The Rev. Lewis Sundquist, who graduated from Northwestern Lutheran Theological Seminary in 1965, served as the pastor of the congregation from 1981 until its dissolution in 1993, when the church records and history were placed in the ELCA Region 3 archives located at the seminary. This fund was established to honor the legacy of the faith community of Ebenezer Lutheran Church, and provides important support for financially deserving Master of Divinity students with preference for second- or third-career students.
