The Royal and Lorraine Johnson Endowed Scholarship Fund at Luther Seminary

The Royal and Lorraine Johnson Endowed Scholarship Fund at Luther Seminary was established in 2016 by Lorna Breiter in honor of her parents. Lorna graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a BA degree in English/Education. She earned her MA in Library Science from the University of Minnesota and a JD from William Mitchell College of Law. She was a teacher and a librarian in a junior high school and an attorney for the Minnesota Legislature Office of the Revisor of Statutes.

Royal and Lorraine Johnson, Lorna’s parents, were baptized in the Lutheran Church and confirmed in the same class at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stillwater, Minnesota. When they married they moved to White Bear Lake where they were lifetime active members of First Lutheran Church. Their regular worship, family devotions, support, and work for the church were Lorna’s examples as she grew up. Lorna established the Royal and Lorraine Johnson Endowed Scholarship fund at Luther Seminary to provide important financial support for deserving students at Luther Seminary.
