Elling S. and Helene Solheim Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Reverend Elling S. and Helene Solheim Memorial Scholarships was established through the estate of their daughter, Nora Odella (Solheim) Baak, who died June 15, 2014 at the age of 100 in Sioux City IA. Odella married Leonhard Baak. She taught library science and children’s literature, served chair of the Library Science Dept and was associate professor at Morningside College until she retired in 1982. Odella was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City. This scholarship provides important support to financially deserving older married students at Luther Seminary, who have graduated from (in order of preference): Augsburg College, St. Olaf College, Concordia College (Moorhead MN), a Lutheran college in the United States, or some other American education institution.
