Krist and Sigrid Hovik Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Krist and Sigrid Hovik Endowed Scholarship Fund was established to honor the memory of Krist and Sigrid in November, 1996, by their son, Clifford, and his wife, Eleanor. The Hoviks are active lay leaders in their congregation, Christ Lutheran Church in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., who recognize Luther Seminary as a training ground for future pastors. This fund provides important support for financially deserving M.Div. seniors committed to serving the Lutheran church in ordained ministry, with first preference for members of Canton Lutheran Church in Canton, S.D.; second preference for students from Lincoln County, S.D.; third preference for students from Minnehaha County, S.D.; fourth preference for members of the South Dakota Synod of the ELCA; and fifth preference from any other location.
