Michael W. Zacher Endowed Scholarship Fund at Luther Seminary
The Michael W. Zacher Endowed Scholarship fund was established in 2016 in honor of his retirement on June 30, 2016. Michael is a 1969 graduate of Luther Seminary. He was ordained in 1969 and served as a parish pastor at Augustana Lutheran Church, Duluth, MN; St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mound, MN; Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, Prior Lake, MN; St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Minneapolis, MN, and Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, Minneapolis, MN. He started working with the Seminary Relations team at Luther Seminary as a Philanthropic Advisor on May 7, 2001. While serving in this position, his close relationship with donors resulted in millions of charitable dollars to support the mission of Seminary. The donors of this fund consist of his colleagues, family, and friends. They established this fund out of gratitude to Mike’s love and commitment for God and for the Church and with the hope and knowledge that his fund will help people who feel God’s call to ministry access a theological education and go on to share the good news of Jesus Christ with generations of men, women, and children. The Michael W. Zacher Endowed Scholarship fund at Luther Seminary will provide important financial support for any deserving Luther Seminary student.
