Stanley and Halleen Pettersen Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Stanley and Halleen Pettersen Family Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by Halleen Pettersen in 1995. The Pettersens were active lay leaders in their congregation in Winona, Minn., and were especially grateful for “good, well-trained preachers.” They believed that “Luther Seminary is where [this] starts,” and one of their grandchildren, Paul, graduated from Luther Northwestern Theological Seminary in 1987. This fund was established to honor the lives and memories of Stanley, who died in April, 1986, and Halleen, who died in July, 2007. This fund provides important financial support for senior Master of Divinity students who have returned from internship and who have families.
