Howard W. Schmechel Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Howard W. Schmechel Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by Howard W. Schmechel in July, 1998. Howard was an active lay leader in his congregation who recognized Luther Seminary as an important training ground for future church leaders. He established this fund to express his thanksgiving to God and to help Luther Seminary students prepare to strengthen and extend the ministries of Jesus Christ in the church and the world. This fund provides important financial support for deserving students enrolled in any degree program.
