Gayle E. Winters and Doris Lind Winters Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Gayle E. Winters and Doris Lind Winters Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in December, 2005, by the estate of Doris L. Winters. Doris was a school teacher, lector, and poet, and was involved in many civic organizations in her community. The Winterses were active lay leaders in their congregation, Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion, S.D., who recognized Luther Seminary as an important training ground for future church leaders. Doris established this fund to honor the memory of her husband, who died in March, 1988. This fund provides important financial support for deserving students enrolled in any degree program.
