The Dennis and Shirley Larson Family Endowed Scholarship Fund at Luther Seminary

The Dennis and Shirley Larson Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in December 2021 by Dennis and Shirley Larson. Dennis and Shirley grew up in Langford, South Dakota and started dating in high school. They were married in 1961 and moved to Groton, South Dakota in 1965. They both graduated from Northern State University in 1962. While Dennis worked at First National Bank in Aberdeen, Shirley taught elementary school. Because of their love for the church in their small community, Dennis and Shirley established this fund to provide financial support for any deserving Luther Seminary student from Groton, South Dakota or from Langford, South Dakota; any deserving Luther Seminary students, with the hope that small communities, like theirs, would continue to have good pastors.
