Rajala-Nydahl Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Rajala-Nydahl Endowed Scholarship Fund was established as the Arthur and Mabel Rajala Endowed Scholarship Fund in February, 1978, by Mabel Rajala following the death of her husband. The Rajalas were active lay members in their congregation in Big Fork, Minn., and longtime friends of the seminary before Arthur died. The name of the fund was changed at the request of Arthur and Mabel’s children in November, 1980, following Mabel’s death, to also include Arthur’s brother, William Rajala, as well as to recognize their son-in-law, the Rev. Craig Nydahl. The Rev. Nydahl graduated from Luther Theological Seminary in 1963 and worked in parish ministry until 1976, when he began serving as a pulpit supply pastor until he died in 1990. Today, this fund provides important support for financially deserving students.
