Jens and Anna Olsen Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Jens and Anna Olsen Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by Anna H. Olsen in 1966 in memory of her husband, Jens Olsen; her name was added to the fund title following her death in 1981. Both Jens and Anna were immigrants from Norway who lived out their faith as active lay members of their congregation. Both believed strongly in the importance of higher education and they sent their four children to church-related colleges. The Olsens’ son-in-law, Griffith Williams, and one of their sons, Arthur Olsen, both graduated from Luther Theological Seminary. Originally the fund was created to assist students from ALC colleges and from mission fields. Today, the fund provides important support for financially deserving students preparing to serve in an international mission field.
