Clemens H. Zeidler Endowed Scholarship Fund
The Clemens H. Zeidler Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in February, 1980, by friends and family of the Rev. Dr. Clemens Zeidler. Clemens was a 1939 graduate of Northwestern Lutheran Theological Seminary who served as a parish pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton, Wis. He was a well-respected churchman in the United Lutheran Church in America who was called as president of Northwestern Lutheran Theological Seminary in 1957. As president, he was active in teaching practical theology, and published two books, Altar Prayers for the Church Year (1962) and Jesus Speaks of His Death (1966). During his tenure, the ULCA merged to form the Lutheran Church of America, and he remained active in that church body even after his retirement in 1976. This fund was established to honor Clemens’s life and memory following his death in February, 1980, and provides important financial support for deserving students enrolled in any degree program.
