Arthur O. and Elenora C. Larson Endowed Scholarship Fund
The Arthur O. and Elenora C. Larson Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in June, 2005, by Elenora Larson. Arthur and Elenora were active lay leaders at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wittenburg, Wis., and recognized Luther Seminary as an important training ground for future church leaders. Elenora was a graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., and also attended Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis. She was a rural school teacher in North Dakota before she moved to Wittenburg, Wis., to work at the Homme Children’s Home. She was active in the WELCA circle at her congregation and enjoyed gardening, golf, and hand crafts like quilting and rosemaling. Elenora established this scholarship following an important conversation with her pastor, the Rev. Ray Reinholtzen, a 1959 graduate of Luther Theological Seminary. This fund was established to express Elenora’s thanksgiving to God and to help Luther Seminary students prepare to strengthen and extend the ministries of Jesus Christ in the church and the world. This fund provides important financial support for deserving students enrolled in any degree program.
