A. Gordon and Constance Nasby Endowed Scholarship Fund

The A. Gordon and Constance Nasby Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by Gordon Nasby’s wife, Constance, and other friends and family in 1983. Gordon studied for a year at Independent Seminary in Oslo, Norway, and graduated from Luther Theological Seminary in 1934. His son, David, and his two sons-in-law, John Lohre and Tim Maland, each graduated from Luther Theological Seminary in the 1960s and ’70s. Gordon served two parishes in Wisconsin before accepting a call in 1938 to Edison Park Lutheran Church in Chicago, Ill., where he remained until his retirement in 1978. In addition, Gordon wrote many articles for Christian publications as well as two books, Sunrise in the West (1944) and Treasury of the Christian World: One Thousand and Forty-One Sermon Illustrations, Ideas, and Expositions (1953). This fund was established to honor the life and ministry of Gordon Nasby following his death in March, 1983, and the name was expanded to honor the life and memory of Constance Nasby following her death in February, 2005. This fund provides important financial support for deserving students in any degree program.
