Winter Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Winter Family Endowed Scholarship Fund was established on June 15, 2002, by the Rev. Ole and Naomi Winter and their children, Larry and Jane Winter, Mark and Annette Winter, and Kathryn and James Thomsen. Ole is a 1955 graduate of Luther Theological Seminary. The fund was established in appreciation for the excellent education Ole Winter received at Luther Theological Seminary to spread the gospel in his calling as pastor and in their concern as a family that future generations of pastors be prepared for ministry. It was also established to provide scholarships at Luther Seminary which “educates leaders for Christian communities: called and sent by the Holy Spirit; to witness to salvation through Jesus Christ; and to serve in God’s world.” This fund provides important financial support for deserving M.Div. students preparing for parish ministry who are in their second or fourth (middler or senior) years of study and who are graduates of ELCA colleges, with preference for graduates of California Lutheran University, Luther College, St. Olaf College, and Waldorf College.
