Granskou, Hjortland, Berg and Lund Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Pastors Granskou, Hjortland, Berg, and Lund Endowed Scholarship Fund was established on September 5, 2006, by Mona Lund in memory of several pastors in her blended family. Her father-in-law, Dr. Elmer S. Hjortland, was a 1923 graduate of Luther Theological Seminary; her first husband, Bud Hjortland, attended Luther Theological Seminary before his death due to polio during his senior year in 1951; her second husband, Pastor Calvin Berg, was a 1954 graduate of Luther Theological Seminary; her third husband’s father-in-law, Dr. Clemens M. Granskou, was a 1921 graduate of Luther Theological Seminary and president of Augsburg College and St. Olaf College; and her stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Rick and Nancy Lund, are 1978 and 1979 graduates of Luther Theological Seminary. This scholarship was established to help Luther Seminary students prepare to extend and share the good news of Jesus Christ during their lives of service to the Church. This fund provides one scholarship annually for financially deserving Master of Divinity students preparing for full-time ordained ministry in the Lutheran church.
