Fred and Ada Folkers Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Fred and Ada Folkers Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by the estate of Fred and Ada Folkers in 2000. The Folkers were active lay members of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sibley, Iowa, who recognized Luther Seminary as a training ground for future church leaders. While the Folkers lived frugally, they gave generously to the church in time, creative efforts, and financial resources—to their congregation, to various seminaries, to foreign missions, and to a Bible camp. They also served their community by offering personal loans to struggling farmers. This fund provides important financial support for students in any degree program, with preference for students preparing for the mission field.
