Gary J. Nokleberg Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Reverend Gary J. Nokleberg Endowed Scholarship Fund was created by Dean and Pam Gruner and provides financial support for deserving students who will enter into ordained ministry. Reverend Gary J. Nokleberg graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN in 1970 and went on to receive his Masters of Divinity from Luther Seminary in 1974. He retired after 40 years as an ordained Minister of the ELCA. Gary preached the gospel of Jesus so the people understood him. His uncompromising determination to speak this truth set the tone for his entire ministry; rooted in the grace of Jesus Christ. Gary was also a shepherd and walked with all members of his congregations in their living and in their dying. His constant reassurance of God’s nearness was felt at the hospital beds, in dying, in times of joy and times of pain, at weddings, baptisms, confirmations, and simple moments of daily life. His guidance, generosity of spirit, and Christ-like leadership were experienced by members of staff, Congregation Councils and Ministries. He left a footprint on the hearts and lives of many. Dean and Pam Gruner were blessed to have been loved by Pastor Gary. Pastor Gary created an environment of freedom in Christ wherein Dean and Pam could grow as children of God. Dean and Pam honor Gary by establishing the Reverend Gary. J. Nokleberg Endowed Scholarship Fund which will provide important support for students who will enter into ordained ministry.
