The Walter A. Ekeren Endowed Scholarship Fund at Luther Seminary

The Walter A. Ekeren Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2018 by his daughter, Sarah B. Buck and her husband, J. Ben Buck. Walter A. Ekeren was originally employed as a pharmacist and entered the seminary at the age of 37. Following ordination in 1956, he served congregations in Wells, MN, West Salem, WI, Springfield, IL, and Richfield, MN. In addition to being a strong and compassionate pastor, he was a musician, patriot and sportsman. Sarah and Ben intend that this fund will help reduce the financial burden for students pursuing theological education who have had other vocations before being called to the ministry.
