C. Willard and Dorothy J. Mikkelson Carlson Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Rev. C. Willard and Dorothy I. Mikkelson Carlson Endowed Scholarship Fund benefiting students at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, was established by Dorothy I. Carlson through a charitable gift annuity. She was born June 23, 1915 and died June 21, 2010. Her husband, the Rev. C. Willard Carlson, was a pastor in the old Augustana Synod Lutheran Church. Most of their time in ministry was spent in Nebraska. He also served as a visitation pastor at First Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Both attended Augsburg College and he graduated from Augustana Seminary in Rock Island, Illinois. Dorothy studied music in various locations, played organ and gave private organ lessons. Scholarships from this fund will benefit deserving Luther Seminary students preparing for parish ministry or the mission field.
