Carl F. Granrud Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund
The Carl F. Granrud Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 1997 by the estate of Agnes B. Granrud, the widow of Carl F. Granrud. Carl and Agnes were active Lutheran lay leaders in the Twin Cities area for most of their lives. Carl was a lawyer in Minneapolis until 1951, when he became president of Lutheran Brotherhood. Through his leadership, Lutheran Brotherhood modernized many aspects of its ministry, including moving into a new building in downtown Minneapolis. Carl retired from Lutheran Brotherhood in 1980. Agnes established this fund to honor the memory of her husband, who died in 1983. This fund provides important financial assistance for deserving students enrolled in any degree program.
