Ire O. and Lucille Erickson Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Ire O. and Lucille Erickson Family Endowed Scholarship Fund was established as the Ire O. Erickson Student Aid Endowment Fund in 1983 by Lucille Erickson to honor the life and memory of her husband, who died in 1969. The fund was renamed in 2005 by Ire and Lucille’s son, Renwood Erickson, following his mother’s death that year. Ire and Lucille were active lay leaders in their congregation, Zion Lutheran Church in Fairview, Mont., where they each taught Sunday School and served on the church council. The Ericksons were also active in many community organizations; Ire served several terms on the City Council and Lucille worked with the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Band Boosters, and the local PTA. This fund provides important support for financially deserving students with preference for students from North Dakota.
