Paul Jeffery Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Paul Jeffery Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund was established as the Paul Jeffery Memorial Student Loan Fund by the Rev. Francis and Lillian Jeffery in 1963. The name and purpose of the fund were changed at the request of the Jefferys in 1983. Paul Jeffery was the son of Francis and Lillian Jeffery. At age seven, Paul began exhibiting some abnormal symptoms and was eventually diagnosed with a disease that inflamed his blood vessels and restricted the flow of oxygen to his arms and legs. Paul died at age nine. Francis, a chaplain with the United States Air Force and a graduate of Luther Theological Seminary, established this fund with his wife Lillian to honor Paul’s memory and his positive faith. The Jefferys often refer to the seminarians they support through this scholarship as “their children.” This fund provides important financial support for deserving students.
