Calmer and Tillie Overlee Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Calmer and Tillie Overlee Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by Calmer in 2010. The Overlees were members of Scandia Lutheran Church. Calmer was a childhood friend of Luther Seminary president emeritus Lloyd Svendsbye. He later served in World War II. After marrying, the Overlees were farmers in Minot. Tillie participated in many community organizations and was especially active in organizing Norwegian heritage festivals. This scholarship will be awarded to students with qualified financial need, with first preference for students from the Western North Dakota Synod.
