Darvin S. and Janet M. Dahlke Endowed Scholarship Fund
The Darvin S. and Janet M. Dahlke Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in December, 1993 by Darvin and Janet Dahlke. The Dahlkes are active lay leaders in their congregations, Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hillman, Minn., where they live during the summer, and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Mesa, Ariz. (Gold Canyon Campus), where they live during the winter. They recognize Luther Seminary as an important training ground for future church leaders. Darvin made a decision early in life to ensure that many pastors could receive the necessary training to become pastors, rather than becoming one himself. Both he and his wife are retired from C. H. Robinson Trucking, one of the largest third-party logistics companies in North America. This fund was established to make a theological education financially accessible for those who feel God’s call to ministry. This fund provides important support for financially deserving M.Div. or M.Th. students preparing for full-time service as pastors in the church.
