William Reid Haas and Ardelle B. Haas Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Dr. William Reid Haas and Ardelle B. Haas Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in April, 2006, by the estate of William Ardelle Haas. William graduated from Duke University with an M.D. degree in 1938 and practiced internal medicine in California. Ardelle was raised in the Kenyon, Minn., area and graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, Minn. The Haases were active lay leaders and charter members of their congregation, Penasquitos Lutheran Church in Rancho Penasquitos, Calif., and recognized Luther Seminary as an important training ground for future church leaders. They established this fund to express their thanksgiving to God and to help Luther Seminary students prepare to strengthen and extend the ministries of Jesus Christ in the church and the world. This fund provides important financial support for deserving students enrolled in any degree program.
