Marvin T. Nystrom Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Marvin T. Nystrom Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by Marvin Nystrom in December, 1987. Marvin died on February 2, 2009. Marvin was an active lay leader in his congregation, Westminster Presbyterian in Minneapolis, Minn. After his retirement in 1981 from the M. A. Hanna Company, which works in iron mining, Marvin traveled extensively in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. He was a frequent visitor to the seminary and especially enjoyed attending the annual dinner to honor scholarship recipients and donors. This fund provides important support for financially deserving full-time middler or senior Master of Divinity students preparing for parish ministry, who are citizens of the United States, and who have a “B” average or better in their studies.
