Sivert and Martha Vanvig Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Sivert and Martha Vanvig Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by Andrew Vanvig, Thomas Vanvig, and Gudrun Hensley in 1982 to honor the memory of their parents. The Vanvigs were Norwegian immigrants and active lay leaders in their congregations in Norway and in North Dakota. Martha Vanvig led morning and evening devotions with her family and always ended with the benediction in Norwegian. The gifts the Vanvigs provided to Luther Seminary will help educate leaders for Christian communities who will spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to thousands of people. This fund provides important financial support for a deserving student in any degree program.
