R. Douglas and Sally Larsen Endowed Fund for Excellence in Children, Youth and Family Ministry

The R. Douglas and Sally Larsen Endowed Fund for Excellence in Children and Family Ministry was established in June, 1996, by R. Douglas “Doug” and Sally Larsen. The Larsens are active lay leaders in their congregation, Peace Lutheran Church in Fargo, N.D., and recognize Luther Seminary as an important training ground for future church leaders. Both Doug and Sally are graduates of the University of North Dakota. Doug is retired from owning several Benjamin Franklin stores in North Dakota and northern Minnesota. Sally is an active member of the Sarah Circle at their congregation. They established this fund to express their thanksgiving to God and to help Luther Seminary students prepare to strengthen and extend the ministries of Jesus Christ in the church and the world. This fund provides important support for financially deserving students preparing for full-time, church-related vocations in children, youth and family ministry.
