Cleon and Florence Mourer Endowed Student Loan Fund
The Cleon and Florence Mourer Endowed Student Loan Fund was established in July, 1999, by Cleon and Florence Mourer. The Mourers were active lay leaders who recognized Luther Seminary as an important training ground for future church leaders. They established this fund to express their thanksgiving to God and to help Luther Seminary students prepare to strengthen and extend the ministries of Jesus Christ in the church and the world. Florence died in January, 1994. Cleon died in April, 1999. This fund provides important support in the form of loans for financially deserving students, with 10% of the principal of the loan forgiven for each year serving in ministry, up to five years.
