Harlan F. and Beatrice N. Foss Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Harlan F. and Beatrice N. Foss Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in December, 2001, by the estates of Dr. Harlan and Beatrice Foss. Harlan was a 1944 Master of Divinity graduate of Luther Theological Seminary and later served as the seventh president of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. Their son, Rick, is a 1971 graduate of Luther Theological Seminary who has served as bishop of the Eastern North Dakota Synod of the ELCA and has provided leadership as a board member, administrator and interim president of Luther Seminary. The Foss family established this fund to express their thanksgiving to God and to help Luther Seminary students prepare to strengthen and extend the ministries of Jesus Christ in the church and the world. Harlan died in December, 1995. Beatrice died in December, 2001. This fund provides important financial support for deserving students enrolled in any degree program.
