Robert and Lila Olson Scholarship Fund

The Robert and Lila Olson Scholarship Fund was established in December, 1998, by Robert and Lila Olson. The Olsons are active lay leaders in their congregation, Tanum Forest Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., and are interested in maintaining Luther Seminary as a training ground for future leaders. Robert has served on the Church Council and attends men’s Bible study; Lila serves as the treasurer of their congregation. Both Robert and Lila are active in their church choir. Tanum Forest has benefitted from the leadership of several Luther Seminary graduates, and the commitment of these graduates to preaching and to youth work inspired the Olsons to establish this scholarship fund. This fund provides important tuition support for one deserving Master of Divinity student with the greatest financial need (renewable for the three years of study), with secondary preference for members of the ELCA’s East Central Synod of Wisconsin or for residents of Wisconsin.
