Duain Vierow Endowed International Student Scholarship Fund

The Duain Vierow Endowed International Scholarship Fund was established in January 2009 with a gift from Hope Lutheran Church of The Villages in The Villages, Florida. The fund honors Pastor Duain Vierow, a founding member of the congregation and a founder of the Global Mission Institute at Luther Seminary. Duain served as a Lutheran missionary in India, Malaysia and southeast Asia, finding great joy and meaning in getting to know people of other cultures and languages and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them. Contributions for this endowed scholarship fund are from Hope Lutheran Church and individual church members. This scholarship provides an important avenue for Hope Lutheran to reach out in mission globally. Each year the fund will provide a scholarship to one international student with financial need at Luther Seminary, selected through consultation between the executive director of the Global Mission Institute and Luther Seminary’s international scholarship administrator.
