Huggenvik Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Huggenvik Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in December, 2008, by the Rev. Mark and Barbara Huggenvik. It was created to honor the ministries of three generations of Huggenvik pastors: Mark’s grandfather, Theodore, was a graduate of Luther Theological Seminary who served as a professor of theology at St. Olaf College and wrote many books about church history and Martin Luther; Mark’s father, Gerhard, is a 1955 graduate of Luther Theological Seminary and has served for more than fifty years as a parish pastor in southeastern Minnesota; Mark’s brother, Peter, is a lay minister in Minnesota; and Mark is a 1972 graduate of Luther Theological Seminary who has served as a parish pastor and is retired from American Lutheran Church of Sun City, Ariz. This fund provides important financial support for deserving M.Div. students preparing for ordination and full-time parish ministry in the ELCA, with preference for students in their final year of study.
