William, Dorathea Mathilda and Vae Jean Doris Buehler Endowed Scholarship Fund of LS (not Fdn)

The William, Dorathea Mathilda and Vae Jean Doris Buehler Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 1999 by Vae Jean Doris Buehler. William and Dorathea were active lay leaders in their congregation, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stickney, S.D., where they were farmers. Vae Jean remembers them as being “always excellent examples of integrity and virtue.” Vae Jean is an active lay leader at her congregation, St. Mark Lutheran Church in Sioux City, Iowa, where she is a retired elementary school teacher. This fund was established to honor the lives and memory of Dorathea, who died in 1987, and William, who died in 1996, and provides important financial support for deserving Master of Divinity students preparing for full-time ordained ministry in the ELCA.
