C. Gerald and Esther Lygre Endowed Scholarship Fund

The C. Gerald and Esther Lygre Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by Esther Holte to honor the memory of her first husband, Gerald Lygre. Gerald was a 1940 graduate of Luther Theological Seminary. This fund was established to express her thanksgiving and stewardship and to help Luther Seminary students prepare to strengthen and extend the ministries of Jesus Christ. This fund provides important support for financially deserving students preparing for full-time church-related vocations who are enrolled in any degree program and who have a strong belief in Jesus Christ as their risen Lord and Savior and who are willing through their future careers to witness to salvation through Jesus Christ and serve in God’s world, with preference for students in their senior year.
