Norman and Gladys Claxton Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Norman and Gladys Claxton Endowed Scholarship Fund was initially established by Gladys Claxton in 1996. Gladys is an active lay leader in her home congregation, Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church in Sun City, Ariz., who had an important conversation with her pastor, the Rev. Bruce Ayers, regarding where she could donate generously to honor his work. Bruce, a graduate of Luther Theological Seminary, suggested that an endowed student scholarship fund at the seminary would be a meaningful legacy. This fund provides important support for financially deserving students at Luther Seminary preparing for ordination and full-time parish ministry.
