Phyllis Eichler Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Phyllis Eichler Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in September, 1990, by Phyllis’s husband, Harold, and family and friends. Phyllis and Harold were active lay leaders in their congregation and recognized Luther Seminary as an important training ground for future church leaders. Their son, Timothy, is a 1990 graduate of Luther Northwestern Theological Seminary who is presently serving as a chaplain in the US Navy. Their son-in-law, Brice Eichlersmith, is a 1984 graduate of Luther Northwestern Theological Seminary who is presently serving as the Youth and Family Pastor at Oak Grove Lutheran Church in Richfield, Minn. This fund was established to honor the memory of Phyllis Y. Eichler, who died in an accident in August, 1990. This fund provides important support for financially deserving full-time students in good standing enrolled in any degree program.
