Rebecca Brown Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Rebecca Brown Endowed Scholarship Fund was established on July 30, 2007, by Rebecca Brown. Rebecca is a strong lay leader at her congregation, Our Savior’s Lutheran in Lake Oswego, Ore., and is a member of the Luther Seminary Board of Directors. She is a graduate of St. Olaf College and has chaired the Alumni/ae Board there. She established the fund at Luther Seminary to give thanks to God as an expression of her stewardship, and to help Luther Seminary students prepare to extend and share the good news of Jesus Christ during their lives of service to the church. One or more scholarships may be awarded annually. Awards should be made on the basis of qualified financial need and commitment to a life of witnessing to salvation through Jesus Christ in a congregational setting, with preference for students from Oregon. If no Oregon students need financial assistance, the scholarship will assist students from the Pacific Northwest. Rebecca’s preference is for larger gifts to be distributed to fewer students.
