Paul Adrian Hanson Children, Youth and Family Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Paul Adrian Hanson Children, Youth and Family Endowed Scholarship Fund was established on April 20, 2003, by Charles and Sharon Olson, two of Paul’s parishioners, to honor the memory and ministry of Pastor Paul A. Hanson. Paul was a 1950 graduate of Luther Theological Seminary, and he served as the Olsons’ pastor at Vinje Lutheran Church in Willmar, Minn. Paul was a highly regarded leader in the American Lutheran Church and in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. Paul served as a parish pastor and later as executive director of the American Lutheran Church’s Division for Life and Mission in the Congregation, and was a strong advocate for congregational ministries to strengthen the faith and worship life of people, including children and youth. This fund provides important financial support for deserving students preparing for full-time church-related vocations in Children, Youth and Family ministries.
