Stay Near the Cross Endowed Scholarship Fund

Charles Barnum established the Stay Near the Cross Endowed Scholarship Fund in September 2019, with the hope and knowledge that this Fund can help people who feel God’s call to ministry access a theological education and go on to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with generations of men, women and children. Charles experienced firsthand the excellent pastoral ministry of Luther Seminary alumni while attending First English Lutheran Church in Appleton, Wisconsin. Because of his experience with pastoral ministry, it is his intent to support Luther Seminary students in pastoral education. His personal ministry to provide crosses to those baptized in his congregation expanded to serve many others, such as students in the entering classes at Luther Seminary. The Fund will provide financial support to any deserving Luther Seminary student.
