Zion Lutheran Church of Amor, Battle Lake, Minn., Foreign Aid Endowment Fund

The Zion Lutheran Church of Amor, Battle Lake, Minn., Foreign Aid Endowment Fund was established in October, 1975, by the people of Zion Lutheran Church of Amor in Battle Lake, Minn. Zion Lutheran was founded in 1883 and was initially called the Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Gotaland Congregation in Otter Tail County, to honor the region of Gotaland in Sweden from which many members of the congregation immigrated. Gotaland was replaced by Amor in Zion’s full congregational name in 1926. This fund provides important financial support for deserving international students preparing for ministry in their homelands.
