Paul S. Berge Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Dr. Paul S. Berge Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by Gordon and Delores Sprenger in 2004 in honor of their personal friends, Dr. Paul and Mrs. Mary Ellen Berge. The Sprengers are strong lay leaders in their congregation who are interested in Luther Seminary as a training ground for future church leaders, particularly lay leaders. Gordon served as the Vice Chair of the Seminary’s Board of Trustees. Paul is a 1963 graduate of Luther Theological Seminary who is Professor Emeritus of New Testament and a former director of Luther Seminary’s Master of Arts degree program. This fund was established in thanksgiving to God for Dr. Berge’s development of the seminary’s Master of Arts program. This fund provides important financial support for deserving students in the M.A. program.
