Harold J. and Elsie M. Langer Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Harold J. and Elsie M. Langer Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in April, 2003, by the estate of Elsie Langer to honor the memory of her husband. The Langers were active lay leaders who recognized Luther Seminary as an important training ground for future church leaders. Elsie established this fund to express her thanksgiving to God and to help Luther Seminary students prepare to strengthen and extend the ministries of Jesus Christ in the church and the world. Harold died in June, 1994. Elsie died in January, 2003. This fund provides important support for financially deserving students enrolled in any degree program. Elsie stipulated that Luther Seminary should award earned interest from the fund each year in addition to $15,000.00 of principal.
