Olai and Caroline Steen and Ernest and Inez Steen Endowed Scholarship Fund

The Olai and Caroline Steen and Ernest and Inez Steen Endowed Scholarship Fund was initially established as the Olai and Caroline Steen Endowed Scholarship Fund by Dr. Ernest B. and Inez V. Steen. Ernest was a 1927 graduate of Luther Theological Seminary. Ernest and Inez’s son-in-law, the Rev. Kenneth F. DeFor, is a 1965 graduate of Luther Theological Seminary. This fund was established to honor the memories of Olai and Caroline Steen. The name of the fund was changed at the request of Ruth I. DeFor following her mother’s death in 1991. This fund provides important financial support for deserving students enrolled in any degree program.
